I’ve been listening to the radio a lot while in work recently. I think I went about five years without listening to any radio shows due to the FM transmitter getting damaged on my Hi-Fi.
Today FM have been regularly playing a track called Every Heartbeat by Robyn and I’m loving it. I originally thought it was a bit of a cheesy house number but it’s actually quite a sophisticated electro track. When I first heard it, I thought it was a Madonna track. But nope, it wasn’t. It’s in fact this lady…
I’m also liking the music of Irish singer songwriter Cathy Davey. She is getting played to death by Ray D’Arcy at the moment. She has a single by the name of Rebeun out and a new album at the end of October.
Finally, another singer songerwriter by the name of Feist was brought to my attention after she deuted with Broken Social Scene on the fantastic Lover’s Spit. Her single 1-2-3-4 is getting quite a bit of air play on the radio too. She reminds me a lot of Tori Amos. The video for 1-2-3-4 is quite epic..

Feist is fantastic. I’ve been loving her music since I heard Mushaboom about two years ago. First time seeing that video, too. Great stuff.

Must look up Mushaboom. I recommend Broken Social Scene highly btw. They are glorious! Almost Crimes is a good starting point.
