I built my own PC. I didn’t however build my own XP Pro CD. A friend gave it to me. Well, that’s not really true…about a thousand or so friends gave it to me peice by peice and then I burnt the .bin file to a blank CD and then followed the instructions. Anyway…
The guilt got to me in the end and so tonight I decided to do the decent thing and get a geniune copy of Windows XP.
I scowered around a few websites and eventually came to Student Options. Student Options offers XP Pro as a download from their site for an amazing 67.80EUR which after a bit of tax is 79.97EUR.
That is not bad at all when the average price was about 140EUR elsewhere.
The only downside to this offer is that it’s specifically for students. The plus side is that they have no means of checking if you’re a student or not.

the guilt got to you????
yup, and the fact that my zenny could not install on the pc
the version of xp i had was very heavily hacked
and did you buy it?
Did i buy what? The hacked one? Nope
The one i downloaded last night and said that i bought it for 80euro…eh yes, i bought that one.
With all the copyright protection that MS are spoofing out you kind of have to have a legitimate copy. You can\’t get any security updates (not that was wasn\’t available before!) and plus they block you from getting Betas and all that lark.
I\’d easily spend 80euro on a night out on the beer so why not splash it on securing my PC?
