Multitext - Send SMS mesages from your Desktop.

May 21st, 2007 by Cormac Moylan · 6 Comments

This is a short and sweet post to tell you about a free application I have being using quite a bit from work. The application is called Multitext and it is developed by a group of Irish lads.

The application allows you to send text messages from your desktop. It works with O2, Vodafone and Meteor. I hate having to login to a website in order to send a text, this application solves that problem. The other major advantage is that you can use your PC’s keyboard, obviously, which is so much handier than using predicative text.

The website is bare enough as things stands but hopefully they will beef it up a bit as their software gains momentum.

Cool. So you have to have your free webtext set up already with Meteor or whoever to use this, correct?

Yeah. That needs to be setup as far as I know. It ‘just worked’ for me anyway but I used web text before this system…so…I’m not actually sure :/

I would presume that the ability to send texts from the web is automatically enabled when you register?

I’ve been meaning to do it for a while now with Meteor. Never actually went to the trouble of registering for the free texts online. Maybe this will be the kick up the ass I needed. Thanks.
