  Wow I got the exact same email this morning. I cant believe what these scammers are saying nowadays to get people’s info. How desperate do you have to be for money to fake being a old lady dying of cancer?! I hope whoever thought of this scam ends up with sores in very inconvenient places so they can learn their lesson.

  Some of these phishing emails are funny. I wrote a semi-thesis on phishing while in college and the sucess rate is alarming from these type of emails.

  Hi I got an email from a Rosemond Harrison this morning,saying she wants me to have her money and that her husband died and she has only 8th months to live,dying of cancer.How stupid of me to reply feeling sorry for her.2.8 mil was offered as long as i helped the needy.What should i do about this?She said she’s from the Ivoiry Coast Abidjan South Africa.

  Did NOT respond. Researched a bit and found you folks. At least there is one place to report scams.

  I recieved so many of these offers and every one is going to trust me with their millions because I am an honest person. How do they know I’m honest? Even though I am honest, they don’t know me, I might be just as corrupt as they are.
  The last one was from Mrs Rosmary King and her attorney David Moore Barrister.
  Just for the heck of it I put the attorneys name in and his picture came up with this law firm that is all over the world.
  Beautiful buildings and places they work from and a very impressive web site.
  Just for giggles I sent them an e-mail and told them the story about Mrs King and her attorney I haven’t heard back yet.
  Maybe they are also using the attorneys name thinking they can scam yet another person and they just made up this beautiful web site from pictures around the world thinking it will fool whom ever checks out the attorneys name.
  I may not be the brightest star in the sky but I know no one with that kind of money is just going to turn it over to just anyone. They already have attorneys to do their work why not let them do their job. I assume they must get enough people to fall for it or they wouldn’t keep trying.
  I looked up Mrs King and your site came up.
  I very seldom ever open e-mails from anyone I don’t know except I was bored.
  I also get porne things for just about anything I just spam them and they keep coming. I have never been to a porne site in my life.
  I guess all we can do is keep forwarding these scams to the better business bureau and any other law enforment agent until they get so tried of it and they get to the right people and shut the loop hole for these things.

  I also received a letter from Ms. King this morning. How do these people get your address seriously? Anyway its sad that whomever this original person was is now getting this kind of slander to their name this poor woman probably has no idea that her name is being used like this and probably has never had any money at all. If I remeber correctly I had a Rosemary King at my high school, makes you wonder if your high school mate is getting rich off of e-mail scams.

  okay folks, Mrs Jane Mayon is still floating around and it is december. Had to do a little research myslef and found this. The only change is the telephone numbers and the references etc.. I have our lawyer checking into it so he may know of who and where to send it to since it is a hoax.

  I got the same email about every person you guys have listed. What I like to do with these emails is play around with them. I respond just for the heck of it. It is a lot of fun. But, I NEVER give out my information.

  I have three e-mail accounts one personal and two for my web business. I have over six hundred of these fraud e-mail between the three. Most have been forwarded to the Fraud department. It is something I work on in my spare time.

  I spoke with a gentleman that advice me to keep sending them to spam@uce.gov he claims it is a special task force that is working on shutting these people down.

  When I first started sending the offers to them after about two weeks they stoped coming. I thought well that was easy enough.

  Now after three weeks of free and clear, I started getting things from Google, Yahoo, some well known business and credit card companies.

  I made the mistake of opening them just to see what they were offering. Wouldn’t you know it we are back to the same thing, they have money for me. All they need is all of my personal information and my bank account numbers and I will get all the money.

  They are getting pretty sneaky using legitimate business names. Once you open it they know it is an active account and away they go, you are now back on the active list.

  I am once again being flooded with their offering at least three to ten a day at times. It is getting to the point I do not know what to open any more. I need to open most all my business e-mails unless I can tell in advance what it is.

  They are sending them balk mail so you can’t even spam them without moving them to your in box.

  I have set up as much protection on my mail as I can but nothing works.

  Our government needs to try to put a stop to people selling or giving mailing address away. Make it an automatic jail time if caught. Maybe it would stop some people. Of course another one of those things that would be hard to prove I suppose.

  Sending those e-mails to the fraud people did at least stop the prone from coming, knock on wood.

  I thank you for reading my comments lets all keep after these idiots that thing we are dumb enough to fall for these scams.

  Please try to educate every one in your family and friends from children up to grandma and grandpa about these scams. We all know they have a God given generous heart to help out people in need of anything.

  We need to protect ourselves and our families from these greedy selfish people that steal and use people for their own benefits.

  Who knows if he even exists… LOL Jack Ryan is the character Harrison Ford played in ‘Patriot Games’?? any similarities??

  I also receive the sam stupid eamil regarding Mrs. King. I informed the Barrister that I need to meet the family because I don’t want to deceive anyone. I also informed him that I would be sending a CC to the FBI regarding his email. I was only able to do this after reviewing this Website so thank you all for making this public.

  I was getting sometimes up to 10 different e-mails a day they all wanted to give me their money. I started sending them straight to the gov. / FBI for two months I flooded their e-mail it didn’t help.

  Even if you spam them with out opening them they can go in the back door and see it is a working address and you get right back on their list.

  What I did was made two folders in my e-mail. One I called (Fraud) the other (Junk Mail) Without opening any of the e-mails anything I feel is one of those lettters I move to the Fraud folder. The rest that I feel is just junk I move to the Junk Mail folder.

  You can pretty much spot the money ones.

  For several months now the junk e-mails have been coming less and less I only get a couple a week now instead of 25-150 a week so I beleive it must be working.

  I have a couple hundred e-mails un-read but hey if it works. I just get tried of cleaning all that junk away just to see it back the next day. This way I go down the list and clean it up in the few minutes it takes me to click on them and hit move. Good Luck!

  I just received one of these e-mails from jane mayon, and just like you guys i decided to check it out on google. I found you guys.
  I might be naive, how can these people scam you just by having the information they ask. If I am going to get $ 10`000.000 dollars from someone who is dying of cancer, for sure I will not be transfering any money at all to no one.

  I sent them my details, then I realised that was a stupid thing to do… they haven’t got anything major but I did send them stuff like my name address and so on. I found this site and reported it as a ohising scam… but I am worried that they’re gonna use my details to take out a loan or something… I dunno what to do… do I just go to the police?
