Dublin’s leg of the Barcamp series is taking place tomorrow morning @ The Digital Exchange, Crane Street.
Thank jebus Joe posted a map on the Dublin Barcamp site because up to approximately three minutes ago I thought it was right on the Quays. I was all set to get off the Luas at Heuston Station and then walk there. Mmm, I think I’m off a bit. I have a terrible sense of direction. It took me about a month before I was comfortable with getting the bus home. I ended up getting of at Templeogue and Rathfarnham a few times…but anyway…Barcamp.
I was half thinking of not going because i have work at 9AM on Sunday morning and since Barcamp is starting at 9.15 on Saturday I will miss my late morning snooze. It’s being absolutely hectic in work this week and for the next five weeks I’m scheduled for Saturday/Sunday work…but anyway…Barcamp.
Okay, I had a look at the map again and it looks kosher. Get the 15 bus as far as Westmorland Street or whatever the side street by the Westin Hotel is called…follow the big green sewage line down Dame Street as far as High Street…take a look at the pub place….then follow the red road as far as the corner of Thomas Street…once I see a giant pin, I know I’m there. Simple. (you need to refer to the google map)
I suppose there is nothing stopping me from arriving a little bit late is there..? It was fairly relaxed at the Waterford event…
On a serious note I’m looking forward to the more social based talks such as Paul Browne’s talk about Enterprise Web 2.0, Eoin O’Dell’s Law of Blogs; Blogs of Law, Darren Barefoot on social media marketing, Paul Walsh on The future of Search using Content Labels , Krishna De on Building buzz - blogging to build your brand, John Ward on Selling Web 2.0 to Irish Financial Institutions, Paul Walsh on the Mobile Web, Uldis Bojars on Using Semantic Web for Social Media Sites and finally Eoghan McCabe’s talk on Web Usability 101: A 30-Minute Crash Course.
Anyway, see you at Barcamp.

Hi Cormac
Thanks for the advance publicity; even though I rather naively there were a few people in the room by the end. I hope that you got something from what I had to say. The slides are now up here (after a heroic running battle all day yesterday between me on the one side, and my slides, photo, wordpress upload feature, and fetch on the other, which they won). Have a look; and feel free to ask follow-up questions here or in the comments to the post on cearta.
All the best,
Eoin.

Cormac - thank you for the advance publicity. I personally enjoyed my first ever BarCamp and met some fantastic people. The wealth of expertise was wonderful and the number of people there was tremendous given the fact it was a Saturday.
