Banning email addresses within VBulletin

January 14th, 2007 by Cormac Moylan · 7 Comments

A few days ago I posted about forum spam attributed to cashette.com. I have since then banned their email domain from signing up to my forum.

Total number of cashette signups this week = 0

A thread on Vbulletin-FAQ details a list and a half of recognised spamming email domains that you should ban immediaetly. Thank you very much to the users of the board for compiling the list. I will do my best to add to it.
The email domains I have banned are as follows:

To create a blacklist of email accounts within VBulletin simply navigate to “User Banning Options” within “VBulletin Options” and add the list to the “Banned Email Addresses” box. Click save and hopefully you will enjoy a reduction in spam signups. I’m only currently using VBulletin for my forums

A similar thread was started today on the Irish Webmaster Forum.

You might want to remove the googlemail.com one from the list. Some gmail users seem to be using that domain.
