Comment Errors since Wordpress 2.3 upgrade

October 25th, 2007 by Cormac Moylan · 11 Comments

Just a quick post to let anyone who posted comments recently that I’m aware of a few errors appearing after publishing commets. These types of errors to be exact…

——–
WordPress database error: [Table 'c******_blog.wp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `wp_posts` p LEFT JOIN `wp_post2cat` pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN `wp_categories` c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = ‘publish’ GROUP BY cat_ID

I am aware that a good few people had issues upgrading to the latest release and I will look into the resolutions ASAP. These errors don’t seem to be preventing the comment form from working (which is nice)

    (Testing 4)

I’m staying away from 2.3 for the time being, too many plugins I’m using are unsupported as yet and it will require some theme hacks to be removed (yeah, I know, I shouldn’t do that)… :)

I hear ya Alastair. I disabled a good few plugins to get 2.3 working. A lot of the ones I disabled have updates available (Firestats/G Sitemap Generator). It’s a bit of pain doing updates :(

I’m having a lot of issues with the WYSIWYG editor as well. I can’t add hyperlinks to text and the paragraphs aren’t being br’d correctly.

Im having issues also. I cant add hyperlinks in the visual tab of the WYSIWYG editor. Also when posting, I cant seem to post in a particular category, I need to save the post then add the category later.

I disabled the graphical editor and disabled all my plugins and slowly began reactivating the ones which I can’t live without. I hope Wordpress isn’t keeping you from your Sex and the City tour or your shopping trips in NYC. pfff

    Disable the Google sitemap plugin.

Sex and The City Tour was as they say collateral damage! Ill be doing the same with my plugins tonight.

One thing I was doing with the GSiteMap plugin was enabling it, doing the create & ping, and immediately disabling it again. Worked a treat and saved a lot of hassle.

Meta note: 2.3.1 update already - I’m grinning smugly at you too-early adopters, it doesn’t pay in software ;)
