Problems with Dr. Dave?

Has anyone noticed and problems with Dr. Dave’s Spam Karma recently?

I have had contact from a few readers of this blog, and another one I author, about issues they have encountered about posting comments. They each received PHP headers already sent errors shortly after hitting submit…

I quite like Dr. Dave’s script but I have disabled Spam Karma and replaced it with Akismet for now.

Spama Karma & Akismet are the only two anti-comment-spam plugins I have ever used on Wordpress. Are there any others worth the poke? Akismet does a nice job but it lacks manual configuration features.

Any recommendations?

    I use Bad Behaviour on one of my bigger blogs and it’s 481 access attempts in the last week. It’s quite good too.

    Paul,
    I must setup Bad Behaviour. I’ve been meaning to do it for some time. BB is installed on the entire www/docs folder is it, or is there a sepecific WP install for it?

    I never found any suitable information on BB when I first heard of its uses.

    I have BB on mine and it drastically reduced span to a trickle. 838 access blocked in the last week.

    It installs as an ordinary plugin.

    Apparently I got mine from http://www.bad-behavior.ioerror.us/

    I was getting a massive torrent of spam and installed BB. The torrent went down to a trickle and Askimet only gets about a dozen a day now. At one stage [pre BB] it was getting around 150 a day.

    15o comments were getting posted or were getting caught?

    I get about 100 caught comments a day but I can bench press about 300 a day, how much do you press?

    I’m talking spam. I usually get 20 - 30 genuine comments per post.

    Benchpress? Isn’t that something to do with a gym? I don’t go there :)
