Matt has just announced that recent .zip and tar.gz download packages of Wordpress contains an exploit. A cracker managed to modify the source code of Wordpress and make it available in the repository. The cracker gained access to the Wordpress.org servers via a backdoor but this hole has since been amended. If you have downloaded version 2.1.1 in the last 4 days then you are advised to download the latest version of Wordpress immediately.
Wordpress have released version 2.1.2 to ensure that all bloggers are in receipt of an untainted verson.
